On the occasion of the renovation of the façade of the famous bank, Huchez was consulted for the construction of an outdoor clock of large dimensioned. Responding to the specific demands of the client and of the architect (Mr. Bonleu, TeP), we presented various face design projects, which would integrate, into the prestigious and classy site of the Champs Elysées. Our know-how and our various achievements in the sphere of large clock faces enable us to be selected from among international competition.
In the technical field, we manufacture an MR20 movement with electric rings and brushes, and long shafts in order to penetrate the wall. The hands, in stainless steel, each house a neon tube thus ensuring good legibility by night. The hours are materialised by 12 luminous spots obtained by optics fibres, combining both reliability and excellent legibility. The face is made of domed Triplex glass to match with the roundness of the façade, and carved so as to represent the original bas-relief. The whole of this clock is synchronized by GPS (time signals emitted by various satellites), giving atomic precision.
This clock, constructed and installed in record time, was delivered for the memorable millennium festivities organized on the most beautiful avenue in the world.
