Marie-sans-Chemise,

Amiens

For a long time, the Amiens Town Hall had planned to rebuild this clock, destroyed after the World War II. François Vasselle, the architect in charge of the project, managed to reproduce the exact replica of this superb monumental work carried out in wrought-iron craft and serving as a base to the beautiful Marie-sans-chemise, bronze sculpted by Albert ROZE.

In the technical sphere, this clock consists on three domed, opening faces, in Perspex, with exactly the same numbers as the original.

Only the mechanism has changed: GPS-assisted electronics give atomic precision and our MR10 clock movement drives the hands. The faces are lighted by neon tubes. Inside the sphere in bronze, serving as a support to the faces there is a bell that marks the hours and half hours.

This clock, manufactured and installed by Huchez, was put in place for the millennium festivities.
